ABOUT THOMAS

Welcome to my website. In these pages you can learn a little bit about me, and my new book, a new and complete philosophical system.

From the beginning, I had the conviction that it was possible to develop a new metaphysics—a philosophy which would draw on traditional concepts to integrate all major aspects of our thought and experience. It is always difficult to assess one's own progress, but I knew I was approaching the goal when philosopher Dr. Mel Thompson wrote that I had “an entirely new metaphysics”. What, then, is a new metaphysics? Perhaps it lies in what the philosopher Sir Isaiah Berlin once said. It has “managed to reformulate the questions”.

For all of my life, I have sought to simplify difficult concepts. While I wasn’t very good at it at first, ultimately I wrote for prestigious publications which did just that, among them Popular Mechanics, Practical Electronics, and Pi. For years, too, I regularly addressed multicultural audiences where a minority of my listeners had English as their first language. This proved to be very good training for an approachable philosophy. Computer analysis says that my work is readable from Grade 10 up.

The philosopher Dr. Martin Cohen wrote the original foreword for my book. He wrote that “it is a book for lovers of mysteries and explorers of ideas ... a book for the true philosophers”. I really have to agree! It’s the kind of philosophy I have loved from the start.
